The return trip from Canakkale to Istanbul was a rapid uneventful drive on a divided highway but the freeway choked up about 30 kms out of the city and it was stop go driving for an hour. Very frustrating, especially for the driver who faced a five hour return drive to Canakkale.
Lunch at Loti Cafe & Dining
I went to Loti Cafe & Dining around the corner from the hotel to have a late lunch after the return from Canakkale. Ordered Onion Soup, Calamari starter and a Turkish meat dish as the main. It had a processed meat with onion salad, tomato, rice and bread. Very tasty!
Belly dancer, Bosphorus dinner cruise
The Bosphorus dinner cruise from 7:30pm till 12:30pm really wasn’t worth it. It was intended as a dinner cruise and a group could have quite a party but for sightseeing it was a total loss. So it was a bit of a bummer being alone with only groups of Turks around me so there was no opportunity for conversation. The food was OK and the belly dancer held my attention. The lights on the shore were only mildly interesting. If it had been over by 9:30pm I would have been happy.
